Absolutely. In fact, this is one of the most important (and misunderstood) parts. To optimise the impact of exercise, you should get your body to do something it's not used to. If you just go down to the gym and do the same set of exercises each time, your body will get used to it, and after a while, each session won't lead to any improvements. Variety is so important.

Interesting, I'd never heard that before. Makes total sense. Looked into the crossfit stuff a bit, looks much more appealing than a standard gym exercise to me.
