The Forest of Marston Vale Trust

There’s something inherently magical about trees and at the Forest of Marston Vale we’re creating woodland for people and wildlife to enjoy. We are an independent registered Charity (No. 1069229) with a vision to use trees and woodlands to create a living, vibrant and dynamic area in which people want to live, work and enjoy their leisure time. We’ve planted over 1 million trees and created many new woodlands. We’ve begun the transformation of an area scarred by the brick making industry and landfill sites. Our aim now is to plant 5 million more trees by 2031 in the 61 square miles between Milton Keynes and Bedford. You can help us continue to make this area blossom and offer more leisure opportunities, flourishing wildlife habitats, revitalized local economies, positive perceptions and involved local communities. That’s the magic of trees.

Friend of the Forest Barrie Mason returns on January 11th for a look at the wildlife of the local area, in particular the Millennium Country Park, which he knows well, having taken many beautiful photographs here!

Learning Lunchtime talks are approximately 1 hour, with time for questions and answers. They are free and there is no need to book, but we do encourage you to arrive early in order to get a guaranteed seat (if you are coming in a larger group, please let us know in advance).

Today's the day (and tomorrow!) - our Christmas Tree festival and farmers market is here. It's always popular and it leaves everyone feeling very Christmassy, so why not come and join us? There are stalls, live music, mulled wine, mince pies, Christmas trees, outdoor rides for the children, as well as a visit from the big man in red. Read all about it here:

This post was shared by someone threatening that if they didn't receive their (son's?) Christmas list soon, they'd be getting a tree for Christmas! Whilst we think it's a great present, we understand that not everyone would feel the same way, so, in the (self) interest of spreading the word, feel free to share our original post with a mild threat :)

Walking down memory lane (and taking a seat). Robin Braithwaite took the time to look a bit deeper into the fascinating lives of two local residents, whose newly installed memorial bench, now sits at the Grange Estate, in Willington.
