Today at 11am, the nation fell silent for two minutes as offices, schools, shops and town squares across the country stopped to remember the moment when the guns of WWI finally stopped, bringing an end to four years of war on 11th November 1918.
It is also a chance to reflect on, and remember the sacrifices that have been made in the decades following the two World Wars, from the Falklands to the Gulf, and to Britain's more recent involvement in Afghanistan.
Today, we remember them all.
